Help Shelter Women for the Holidays!
Join us in making a difference this Holiday Season by helping to support women who are recovering from substance abuse disorder, embarking on new journeys, and transforming their lives. Your donations can bring housing security, encouragement, and extra love and support during this pivotal time. Let's make their transition a little brighter and show them they are not alone on this path to renewal. Testimonials from Roots Residents:
**Bobbie's Story:** Bobbie and her baby joined our recovery community in December 2021 after inpatient treatment for substance use disorder (SUD) at "A Mother's Love" in Jackson, TN. She had lost custody of two children and faced legal issues, but aimed to regain her family's stability. During her time at Roots, she achieved key milestones, including staying employed, clearing her charges, buying a car, and regaining custody of her 9-year-old daughter. After 18 months, she transitioned out, secured a management position, and now lives independently with her children, giving back to the recovery community.
**Sarrah's Story:** Sarrah and her son Hank joined our community in October 2023 after her treatment for SUD. Despite achieving 9 months of sobriety, she faced legal issues that led to a month-long incarceration, missing Hank's first Christmas. Our community provided care for him during her absence. After her release, Sarrah excelled at work, earned a promotion, and became a devoted mother. After a year, she transitioned out and now lives independently, maintaining her sobriety since January 9, 2023.
Roots supports mothers like Bobbie and Sarrah by providing a secure environment for healing and rebuilding. Lacking familial support, they have overcome significant challenges and now contribute to their communities, breaking the cycle of generational abuse. The demand for support is high, but the impact is transformative.
